The Three Methods for a Breast Lift with Implants

There are three main approaches to a breast lift procedure that depends on the incision which will dictate the end result. You will also need to choose either saline filled silicone envelopes of silicone gel implants. Our Board Certified Surgeon Dr. Taneja has peformed all three types of breast lifts with implants and can show you what to expect with images of recent ladies that went through this wondrous transformation at his surgery center.

The Breast lift with implants procedure

The procedure with the smallest effect but also the smallest incision is referred to as the Benelli , circumareolar  or donut because only a small incision around the areola is made. The size of the implant is limited because of the size of the incision. This technique only partially lifts the breast back into place, but there is a very short recovery time.

The lollipop makes the same incision as the donut but with an additional cut down vertical to the base of the breast. This cosmetic approach provides for larger implants to be used along with a better end result of the lift.

The anchor is the incision that provides the best result and is the same as the lollipop but with an additional horizontal incision at the base of each breast. This makes it possible for the maximum amount of lift and the use of any implant and the largest possible size of implant.

Two main types of implants are used for insertion. This is the older saline and the well known silicone.

It is recommended that if a saline implant is chosen use the double lumen implant. This has a more natural feel to it due to the extra silicon on the envelope that is used and provides an extra level of protect from deflation. This type has the saline injected into it after the implant is in place so the incision is smaller than what is needed for a silicone implant.

There are two main types of silicone implants that are used including the silicone elastic gel and the cohesive silicone gel also called the gummy bear. Both of these types are prefilled before insertion so the incision will have to accommodate the size of the implant.
