The Type of Breast Implants We May Offer at our Orange County and LA Clinic

Breast implants are highly popular in our Orange County and Los Angeles counties right now.

Ever since the FDA lifted the ban, silicone implant demands are on the rise. Of course, the ever popular and more affordable saline implants are on the rise as well. Breast implants come in many shapes and sizes. Read below to find out what we have.

We may offer the following breast implants at our OC and LA facilities:

-Saline Breast Implants

Saline breast implants are filled with a sterile saline solution. If the implant shell leaks, the implant will collapse, but the saline (salt water) solution will be absorbed and will expel naturally out of your body. All of our saline breast implants have a lovely symmetrical shape, are firm, feel good, and are FDA-approved for women ages 18 and older.

-Structured Breast Implants

Structured breast implants are also saline implants filled with a sterile saline solution, but contain an inner structure which helps make your implant feel more natural.

-Silicone Breast Implants

Silicone breast implants are filled with a silicone gel and has a feel of your natural breast tissue. If your implant gets a leak, the gel may stay within the implant shell or may get out into your breast implant pocket. The implant shell itself will not collapse. If you choose silicone for your implant, you should visit your plastic surgeon on a regular basis to make sure they are functioning well. An ultrasound or MRI screening will be used to check the condition of your breast implants. Silicone breast implants are FDA-approved for use in women ages 22 and older.

-Gummy Bear Breast Implants

Gummy bear breast implants are implants that maintain their shape even if the implant shell breaks. They are stable implants and are firmer than other implants because of their thicker gel consistency. Shaped gummy bear implants are tapered at the top and have more projection at the bottom. A slightly longer incision is needed to place these types of implants and if the implant rotates later, there will need to be an additional corrective procedure done.

-Round Breast Implants

Round breast implants have a circular shape and appear fuller than form-stable implants. They provide more projection and even if the rotate out of place, their shape will remain stable.

-Smooth Breast Implants

Smooth breast implants move with the breast implant pocket which offers a more natural type of movement. They are soft, and may have slight visible rippling under the skin.

-Textured Breast Implants

Textured breast implants are textured in order to ensure that scar tissue sticks to the implant making them less likely to rotate inside of the breast and get repositioned.
