What is a Tummy Tuck?

A Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty is a procedure in which our surgeon will contour your abdomen into a more aesthetically appealing shape. This surgical process involves removing the excess skin and fat from the lower abdomen, bringing together the muscles which separated during pregnancy, and tightening up the midsection that loosened over time. It is usually performed together with liposuction to accentuate your final result.

If your stomach fat is hanging over your C-section scar, or you simply have fat rolls and a protruding belly, this procedure will be ideal for you. A Tummy Tuck will get rid of the unsightly fat, tighten up your abdominal region and make you look good in a bikini.

HOW IT WORKS:

We offer two options for Tummy Tucks: A full, and mini Tummy Tuck. In a full Tummy Tuck, an incision is made from hip to hip in an area that is low and in your bikini line. Your abdominal muscles that were separated are then brought back together which tightens up your midsection. The loose skin that hung is now trimmed down then sewn, and a natural looking belly button is created. A full Tummy Tuck is always recommended for those with a lot of extra fat and skin above and below the belly button.

In a mini Tummy Tuck, a short incision is made just at or above the pubic bone, and from this area, your surgeon will trim off unsightly fatty tissue and stretched skin. Your doctor will tighten your abdominal muscles, pull the stomach tight, and sew up the incision with dissolvable sutures. A mini Tummy Tuck is recommended for those with a pouch just under the belly button and an abdomen that needs some tightening.
